As a farmer of organic grapes in the beautiful Okanagan valley, we work closely with Salmon-Safe to ensure that we continually adhere to ecologically sustainable agricultural practices that protect water quality and native salmon.
Salmon-Safe certification is focused on the following areas:
- Riparian area management
- Water use management
- Erosion and sediment control
- Integrated pest management
- Animal management
- Biodiversity conservation
The Salmon-Safe standards were developed over a two-year period with biologists, agronomists and farmers and have been tested in the fields of more than 300 farms in Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho, across a variety of crops.
By adhering to the stringent Salmon-Safe standards, we’ve taken our winery far beyond best organic practices.
